Built to Sail

1 Kings 22:48 (NCV) “King Jehoshaphat built trading ships to sail to Ophir for gold. But the ships were wrecked at Ezion Geber, so they never set sail.”

Devotional Thought

Life is full of stories of successes, and failures, stories of fulfilled dreams, and unrealized visions. One of such is what we are reading this morning. The ships were built with a purpose of trading, but the purpose was never fulfilled for once, till all the ships were wrecked. The Bible says, “King Jehoshaphat built trading ships to sail to Ophir for gold. But the ships were wrecked at Ezion Geber, so they never set sail.”

They built these ships to sail, but they never set sail, what a tragedy! Can you imagine the time, talent, and treasure that must have gone into the building of these ships? The king did not realise the purpose of his investment because the ships fail to set sail. This will not be your experience, in the name of Jesus Christ.

You were built to set sail; you cannot die in the harbor, without fulfilling your purpose in life. God is waiting for you to set sail. You have got to step out of the harbor and go and fulfill your assignment.

Your assignment is more precious than gold, and the King’s investment in you is at stake, while you keep waiting. One of the scriptural charges for every man of destiny is to make the most of every opportunity and seize the moment.

You are not built for the harbor; but you were built to set sail. I curse everything that has tied you down against your divine assignment, in the name of Jesus Christ. This year, you shall recover every lost ground in your assignment, in the name of Jesus Christ. Today, I destroy every barrier on the path of your assignment, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Let’s Talk About It.

What will you do this weekend about the dream God has given you.
