God’s presence makes the difference between a fulfilled and a failed purpose. We must understand that fulfilling God’s purpose is impossible without God’s presence. God gave Moses the task of leading the Israelites to the Promised Land. The difficulty of this duty was overwhelming, and he requested a partner, but more importantly, he asked for God’s presence. “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. (Exodus 33:15)
God’s purpose for your life can never be fulfilled without God’s presence. No matter how passionate you are about your vision, don’t run until you have secured His presence. Jesus gave the same instruction to the disciple. He says to them, “tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
God will never commit anything you can complete without Him into your hand. Whatever God has called you to do will always require His presence and backing. It is wise to always check at different stages and levels of fulfillment of your assignment and purpose whether you are still in touch with His presence.
Don’t be like Joseph and Mary, that took Jesus along with them to Jerusalem and returned without knowing that Jesus was no longer in their company. They moved while God’s presence lingered behind them. They look for Him for three days before they found Him. Three days without God’s presence, hum! I don’t know where you stand regarding this message, but if you have lost touch with His presence, it is time to seek Him.
Moses said we would only go further from here when we are sure of Your presence. Joseph and Mary could only continue the journey when they found Him. Where is God in your journey? Can you sense His presence? Don’t continue until you can answer this question.
How often do you retreat to evaluate your status and journey in life?
Father, let Your presence be evident in my journey, in Jesus’ name.
