Keep the Doors of Your Lips

Psalm 141:3 (KJV) “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips”

Devotional Thought

The mouth is a very important part of our body. It is one of the major doors, into our lives. We determine what comes, or goes out, of our lives, with what say with our mouth. We cannot separate the happenings in our lives from the usage of our mouth. The power of life, or death, blessing, or curses, can be released, through the mouth.

The Psalmist knowing the role that the mouth can play, in determining the happenings, in his personal life, and that of the people under him, prayed, “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” What a powerful prayer! We all need to keep this prayer close to our lips.

The throne of a man’s life is opened to God, or the devil depending on, what he says with his mouth. Don’t forget, the result of confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, is salvation. The scriptures say, with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

What we say with our mouth, will eventually become our lives’ experience. We need to keep saying what God says about us, to put God in control of the events of our lives. Don’t let the challenges of life dictate the confession of your mouth. No matter what is happening in your life now, keep the word of God, at the door of your mouth. Don’t ever let the storm of life, have the key to the door of your lips.
