The Goal of Radical Intimacy

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Devotional Thought

The goal of radical intimacy with God is to become more like Him. It’s to grow in our understanding of who He is, to deepen our love for Him, and to align our hearts with His will. It’s a process of transformation that begins with a desire to know Him more intimately and ends with a life that reflects His character and love.

As we pursue this goal of radical intimacy, we are invited into a deeper relationship with God, which is marked by trust, surrender, and obedience. We begin to see Him more clearly, hear His voice more distinctly, and follow His leading more closely. And as we do, we are changed from the inside out, becoming more like Him with each step we take on this journey.

The Apostle Paul describes this transformation process in 2 Corinthians 3:18, when he writes, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

Conforming To His Image

The objective is to behold the glory of the Lord and to be transformed into His image. It’s to become more loving, more patient, more kind, more generous, more faithful, more self-controlled, and more like Him in every way. It’s to reflect His light and His love to a world, that desperately needs it.

So today, let us press on toward the goal of radical intimacy with God, trusting in His grace and His power to transform us into His image. Let us seek Him with all of our heart, mind, and soul, and let us allow His love to shape and guide us on this journey of transformation. For in Him, we will find the truest and deepest expression of life, love, and joy.

Let’s Talk About It.
