The Lifestyle of Praise and Thankfulness

Devotional Thought

Fruitful lands are not scarce; only thankful people are; wherever you meet grateful people, there you will see productive land—the fruitfulness of a land answers to the lifestyle of its inhabitants. Real increase answers to the lifestyle of praise and thankfulness. People that live with gratefulness will eventually experience fruitfulness.

The Bible says, “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.” -(Psalms 67:5-6)

What do you do when an increase or fruitfulness is lacking in any area of your life? The natural reaction of most people will be complaining and murmuring. Complaining and murmuring will only prolong the fruitlessness and lack; it will never change the situation.

A wilderness is a barren land, but watch what Jesus did in the wilderness when there was not enough bread to feed the multitude! Jesus thanked God, and five loaves of bread and two pieces of fish kept increasing, until more than five thousand people had eaten enough and had leftovers.

Jesus received a testimony of increase and fruitfulness, in a location recognized as fruitless. Thus, most often, the problem of lack has nothing to do with location, but much with our disposition. Testimonies of significant increase always follow men and women, that live a lifestyle of praise and thankfulness.

Wherever an increase is needed, praise and thankfulness should be the right attitude, rather than complaining and murmuring. Things will continue to depreciate in the hand of a man who does not know how to appreciate God, for the little he has.

When we embrace a lifestyle of praise and thankfulness, we will begin to see the land of our lives yielding an increase to the glory of God’s name.

Let’s Talk About It.

How often should we express our gratitude to God?
