2 Chronicles 15:19 (KJV) And there was no [more] war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
Many of us believe, there will always be wars to fight, as long as we are on this side of heaven. I think this belief is based on a partial understanding of God’s plan and purpose for His children. If a man fights wars all the days of his life, when will he enjoy rest? Shouldn’t there be a time or a season, when a man rests without fighting battles, or even years when there is no more war?
We know David fought battles throughout his life, but David is not the only example we have in the Bible. You remember that Solomon, enjoyed rest from battles throughout his reign. There is also Asa, that enjoyed rest from war for a space of thirty-five years. So, the pattern we see in God’s word, projects the possibility of rest from war and warfare, for a season or even for years.
As I was preparing for this June’s one day prayer and fasting, the Lord led me to these scriptures, that established the fact, that rest from wars and warfare is possible for God’s people. If we can find it in God’s word, it can become the reality of our lives, if we believe it.
2Chronicles 15:19 (NLT) “So there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.
Psalm 46:9 (KJV) “He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.”
Isaiah 40:2 (KJV) “Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.”
What we are reading now, was the reality in the lives of God’s people in the bible days. Don’t forget that God has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I stand in agreement with you, on the basis of the scripture that the age long battle in your life, marriage or family; in your office or business; with your health or with your sleep, shall cease this month, in the name of Jesus Christ. From this month onwards, your years of rest without war begins, in the name of Jesus Christ.
What do you do, when you locate promises that address your issues?
Father, let wars cease in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name.
Do you find yourself sometimes wearied, with no strength to continue your journey?
