12 Days Prophetic Prayer and Fasting 2022

Theme: Entreating the Wonders of God’s Hand Upon 2023

Ezra 8:21-23

Ezra 8:21-23 (NKJV) 21. “
Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. 22. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God [is] upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath [are] against all those who forsake Him.” 23. So, we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”

Introduction

The hand of God and its different variations (i.e., the hand of the Lord, the right hand of God, and the right hand of the Lord) are familiar themes in the bible. They appear 54 times in 53 verses. Although, God is a Spirit, and like Jesus revealed in the gospel “…a spirit does not have flesh and bones…” Thus, God does not have a hand in the sense of human hands. The hand of the Lord speaks of the works of God, the acts of God, the power of God, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. A further study of the activities and happenings connected to the hand of God in the bible, reveals the significance of the hand of God in the lives of His people.

The Bible saints understood the mystery of the hand of God in operation. This understanding guides their prayers and requests before the Lord. Ezra needs help against the enemy on the road to Jerusalem. But, before going to God in prayer, he had already declared before the king and his officials that “, “The hand of our God [is] upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath [are] against all those who forsake Him.” 23. So, we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”

The hand of God is indicative of divine assistance for the His people and speaks of His power and wrath against the wicked. The same hand that works for the righteous, works against the wicked. Ezra knew, that when help is needed a demand should be made on the hand of God. When the hand of God rests upon an individual or family, they become untouchable, and unstoppable for their enemies. The coming year promises to be a great year, and as such, we need the mighty hand of God to make it a reality.

We don’t want a 2023, that is void of the operations of the hand of God. Thus, for the next 12 days we shall be entreating and declaring the operations of the mighty hand of God upon 2023, our lives, families, businesses, ministries, professions, and projects. The Lord will answer us.
