[Job 37:5-6 NKJV] God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. 6 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall [on] the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.
Most believers think since God has promised, we should wait for the fulfillment. Others said if God has promised to do it, He could as well go ahead and do it; why ask? I want you to understand that, though God has promised it, you will still need to ask.
Don’t just assume that God’s promise will automatically come to fulfillment without you demanding it. You need to request the fulfillment of His promise. Consider what the Holy Spirit says through Zechariah, in Zechariah 10:1. “Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.”
As a younger believer, I usually reason with myself like most believers, when I read this text, if it is the time of latter rain, then let the rain fall. It should just rain, because it is the season for it. But, as I study further, I see this principle repeated in the Scriptures. It is God’s part to promise; it is man’s portion to demand its fulfillment.
Don’t forget that God promised to send the Messiah, but some individuals asked for the fulfillment of that promise to see the promise performed (Luke 2:25-26; 36-38).
Remember, God promised Elijah that He would send rain, but Elijah understood it was his responsibility to make a demand for the fulfillment of the promise (1 Kings 18:1, 42-45).
God sits on His throne in heaven and declares what He wills, and man must go on his knees demanding that God’s will be done on the earth, as it is in heaven. Don’t watch for God’s will; demand for His will to be done on the earth and in your life.
I believe it is a season of supernatural strength. God is ready to make flashing clouds and give showers of rain and release the heavy rain of His strength, so that the fields of God’s people can blossom again. Will somebody care to demand for rain this month?
