The spirit of faith will always win the heart of God and enjoy the fulfilment of the promises of God. Twelve spies that Moses sent to the Promised Land, came back with conflicting views about the land.

The Lord was not happy with the ten of the twelve spies, because of their unbelief; but to Caleb, He said, “My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.

God vowed to give Caleb and his seed an inheritance in the land because he had a different spirit. What God called a different spirit, can be understood as the spirit of faith, in the context of the attitude of fear and unbelief displayed by the ten spies.

One of the manifestations of the Spirit of faith is the desire to follow God and His word wholeheartedly. It believes and runs at God’s command. No matter what stands in the way of God’s promise, the Spirit of faith holds God to His word.

When the Spirit of faith looks at the giants, it sees them as ants. Looking at adversity it sees opportunity. Where there is testing, it sees testimonies; and when faced with a trial, it expects triumph. Faith approaches everything in the light of what the Lord says, or what the Lord is saying, or what the Lord has promised.

It does not deny the presence of the problems, but celebrates the veracity of the promises, above the problems. The Spirit of faith believes, if God says it, it is as good as done. May you be baptized with the Spirit of faith, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, let the voice of unbelief, be silenced in my life this year, in Jesus’ name.
