In today’s devotional we willl look at how to handle ungodly dreams. Dream is one of the ways by which God speaks to His people. It is a pictorial or dramatic presentation of God’s mind to the mind of His people while they are asleep. However, we need to remind ourselves that not all dreams are from God.

There are dreams that come when the mind is at rest in the night and goes into memory mode. This is when the mind begins to play back some of the past activities of the day. These are ordinary dreams influenced by a person’s multitude of activities.

More importantly we should not forget that the devil is also an expert in duplicating and adulterating everything God uses. So, we have three major sources of dream- God, man, and the devil. (Job5:3, Number12:6)

What to Do with Ungodly Dream

How do we handle dreams that are not from God? God has already given us His own counsel regarding how to handle demonic dream and any dream that is not from Him. He says, “…pay no attention and attach no significance to your dreams which you dream or to theirs, for they prophesy falsely to you in My name. I have not sent them…” Jeremiah 29:8-9 (AMPLIFIED)

When a dream is not from God, it does not matter whether the dream comes to you directly or indirectly from someone else, it does not need any interpretation. Interpreting demonic dreams is attaching significance to it. A dream is empowered for fulfilment when attention or significance is attached to it.

So, when you don’t like what you see in a dream take an action against it. Get up and get into the place of prayer and violently reject and cancel it, in Jesus’ name. Then forget about it, don’t go around sharing demonic dream with people. That is all demonic dreams owe you, it does not owe you any interpretation or attention.
