Paul, in his epistle to the Corinthians, revealed one of those things that give God pleasure. He said, “For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.” 1 Corinthians 1:21
The salvation of man is so precious in the sight of God, such that He gave His only beloved Son Jesus, to die to actualize this dream. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ made no sense in the sight of the Jews, as far as God’s plan is concerned.
The Jews were expecting a military Messiah, who will confront the power of their days, to secure their freedom from the hand of the oppressor. They have heard and read about Moses exploit, and how God delivered their fathers from the Egyptians’ captivity, so they were expecting the repeat of history.
However, God has ordained that the salvation of humanity will come through the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the gospel message; it is the same message that is changing and transforming the lives of men and women around the world.
So, it is the Father’s good pleasure, to see men and women become sons and daughters of the kingdom, through the foolishness of the gospel message. How do we preach the message? We preach it, through our lifestyles, and by sharing the message of God’s love with the world.
It is the responsibility of every believer, to take the gospel message to those who are not yet saved. We are called to use everything, and every gift, that God has endowed us with, to spread the gospel.
It gives God pleasure, to see people saved, through the foolishness of the preaching. So, what are you waiting for? Get involved, use your gifts, time and treasure, to do what gives God pleasure.
Father, bring my way this week anyone You are ready to save, and use me to share the gospel with them, in Jesus’ name.
