1 Chronicle 10:13 (NKJV) “So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance”
Faithfulness is one of the characteristics of the kingdom, that every believer must cultivate. It is one of the major requirements in the stewardship of the kingdom. It is expected that we are found faithful, in our walk with God, and in our work for Him. If we don’t embrace faithfulness, the only alternative we are left with is unfaithfulness.
Unfaithfulness has never paid in the kingdom at any time. Wherever you see unfaithfulness, you will see potential being wasted. The Bible says, “So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance” – (1 Chronicles 10:13)
Faithfulness is demonstrated in the sight of the Lord, by our commitment to keeping His word and seeking Him for guidance. Unfaithfulness, conversely, is characterized by disobedience to the word of the Lord, and reliance on sources other than the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Saul’s error was not documented, for generations after him to condemn him, but for our admonition, so that we might learn from his error, and not follow his step. It was Saul’s unfaithfulness that opened the door, for his destruction.
This year, unfaithfulness shall not be found with you, in the name of Jesus Christ. May you be found walking in faithfulness towards God and men, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Faithfulness is possible, for a believer in Christ, because of the indwelling Holy Spirit. He is working within us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure. I see His word becoming your daily delight, I see you faithfully, doing His pleasure in the name of Jesus Christ.
What steps will you take this week to strengthen your faithfulness toward God?
Father, I receive the grace, to be faithful to You and Your word, in the name of Jesus Christ.
