To God I Would Commit My Cause

Job 5:8-9 (NKJV) “But as for me, I would seek God, And to God I would commit my cause–Who does great things, and unsearchable, Marvelous things without number.”

Devotional Thought

This was one of the statements of Job, in the days of his waiting on the Lord. Job was saying, I know what you can do, and though I have not seen what you are doing, I will yet seek You. Job refused to become weary when God tarries in His doing.

Similar to what the three Hebrew boys did, in the face of the fiery furnace. They said, we know that our God can deliver us, but even if He does not, we shall not bow. They kept their loyalty to God because they understood not only what God can do, but who God is. They were committed to His Person, more than they crave for His performance.

Our commitment to the person of God must be stronger than our craving for His performance. When all we seek for is what He can do, we stand the chance of being messed up in our faith, the days He tarries in His deeds.

When our commitment is to His person, even when He tarries in His deed, we will be able to stand strong knowing fully, that He is a faithful God. Remember, that God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent.

As God is wonderful in His doings so, is He faithful as a Person. I charge you that no matter what is going on in your life or around you, hold on to Him, and watch His marvellous deeds become the reality of Your life, in Jesus’ name.

Let’s talk about it

What do you do, when what you are expecting from God, did not manifest exactly when you expect?
