God has never broken a covenant; He is a faithful covenant keeper. He takes pleasure in cutting covenants with people. Almost all the covenants between God and man in the Bible are God’s initiative. God establishes the covenant to secure men’s cooperation in carrying out His goals and plans for their life.
Abraham did not come up with the idea for what is now known as the Abrahamic covenant; the Lord did. God established the multigenerational covenant with Abraham. God is dedicated to upholding the provisions of the covenant even after Abraham has long since passed away.
What a faithful God we serve! Paul said in his exhortation to the Jews at Antioch, referring to God’s covenant with Abraham, “the promise which He made to the fathers, God has fulfilled this for us their children….” (Acts 13:32-33)
God is not a covenant breaker; He is a covenant keeper. No matter the changes in the world, God does not change His word. He is faithful and abides faithful, even when we are unfaithful. When the fathers were no longer alive, God extended the fulfillment of the promise to their children.
Any word that has gone out of God’s mouth will not return empty without accomplishing His desire or fulfilling His purpose. He is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. The Bible says, “Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.” (Joshua 21:45)
Your house is the next house to experience the faithfulness of God. This year you will live to experience God’s faithfulness and taste the Lord’s goodness in Jesus’ name. Get ready; your doors are about to be opened. Everything the Lord has said concerning your house shall come to pass this year in the name of Jesus Christ.
What should be our attitude towards the God who is faithful to His word?
Father, I hold on to Your promises and trust You, for their fulfillment in my life and family, in Jesus’ name.
