Nehemiah 2:4-5, 8

Nehemiah 2:4-5, 8 (NKJV) Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5. And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.” …8. “and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which [pertains] to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy.” And the king granted [them] to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.

God’s Hand of Favour

Favour is the irresistible hand of God, that positions a man for preferential treatment by others. God’s favour makes room for all other kinds of favour; it precedes favour with man.

Nehemiah needs favour in the sight of the king, and he understood that, until God’s hand of favour rests upon a man, he cannot enjoy favour with others. When the king asked him for his desire, he did not rush to respond, he went to God in prayer, to secure God’s hand of favour, before he presented his request for the king’s favour.

All the things Nehemiah requested for, were granted without an exemption. He knew it wasn’t his eloquence, or his excellent service that made that a reality. Nehemiah testified by saying, “And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me. Another version says, .” Since I enjoyed the good favor of my God, the king granted my requests.” (Nehemiah 2:8 NABRE)

When God’s hand of favour is at work in a man’s life, he enjoys favourable outcomes in life, that is beyond human explanation and analysis. Your little effort produces mighty result when the mighty hand of God is behind your affairs. For this reason, we shall be entreating and engaging God’s hand of favour, for August 2023.

Prayer Points I

1. Let us begin to thank God for August 2022, for His goodness and for His wonderful works among us, and members of our family, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Let us begin to commit August 2023 into the hand of the Lord, asking Him to shield us with His hand of favour throughout 2023, in Jesus’ name (Psalms 5:12).
3. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, by the working of God’s hand of favour, we shall stand before kings not before mere men; we shall find acceptance, obtain favour, and achieve our dreams and fulfil our purposes, in Jesus’ name (Esther 5:2)
4. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023 we shall not rely on our resources, or on the arm of the flesh, but on the right hand of the Lord, on His arm and the light of His countenance, and we shall possess our possession, and prosper by the working of God’s hand of favour, in Jesus’ name (Psalms 44:3).
5. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, we shall find favour through the working of God’s hand of favour wherever we show up, we shall be elevated, promoted, honour, and selected above others, in Jesus’ name (Genesis 39:4)
6. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023 no request, application, proposal, or tender with our name attached shall suffer rejection or refusal, but, by the operation of God’s hand of favour, all our requests shall be granted, in Jesus’ name (Ezra 7:6)

Prayer Points II

1. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, through the working of God’s hand of favour, all resources necessary for the accomplishment of our tasks and the fulfilment of our dreams shall be adequately provided, through channels ordained by God and influenced by His hand, in Jesus’ name (Nehemiah 2:8)
2. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, our spouses and children shall standout among their mates and contemporaries, and they shall be selected, elected, and crowned as winners in their field of endeavours, in Jesus’ name (Esther 2:15-17).
3. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, God’s hand of favour shall turn our accusers into our announcers, and our adversaries into our advertisers, in the name of Jesus Christ (Esther 6:10-11)
4. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, by the working of God’s hand of favour, our marriages, ministries, businesses, careers, and projects shall stand strong, and the face of God shall be opened upon us and our children, and we shall not be troubled, in Jesus’ name (Psalms 30:7)
5. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023 by the working of God’s hand of favour, help shall come to us from kings and the strangers, and mercy shall be extended towards us and our families. Our gates shall be opened continually, and shall not be shut day nor night, the wealth of the nations and nobles shall be transferred unto us, in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 60:10-11).
6. Let us declare and prophesy, that in 2023, by the operation of God’s hand of favour, every eye that sees us shall bless us, and every ear that hears shall approve us, in Jesus’ name (Job 29:11)
