Revelation 3:8 (NASV) “I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut. because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
As a graduate student in the university, every student has an access card. Without the access card, you cannot enter the library, or resource centre, when there is a need for it. One particular semester, the school sent out a mail, to all the students about the need, to update their access cards.
Since I have access to the library online, I work from home, so I did not follow the instruction. However, one day, I have an appointment with one of my colleagues, and we agreed to meet in the Library. When I got to the library, I placed my access card on the machine, and it did not recognize it.
Everyone who met me at the entrance used their card and entered, and I was wondering what is going on here. I was unable to enter, not because I did not have an access card, but because I did not obey the instruction, to update my card. You see, certain doors will only open to you, in response to the sound of obedience.
Jesus said to the angel over the church of Philadelphia, “I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
One of the reasons the door was opened, was because the church in Philadelphia obeyed the word. You cannot use the key of prayer to open the door, that needs the key of obedience.
For instance, God commanded Joshua, that to cross the Jordan, the priest must carry the ark, and step into the Jordan. If Joshua had refused to obey and decide to stretch the rod as Moses did, he would have been disappointed. However, when Joshua obeyed, the Jordan was opened.
Is there any door that has refused to open in your life? Could it be you have been using the wrong key, or the instruction has been updated, and you are not sensitive? It is never too late to make, things right with God.
Father, give me the grace to obey and keep Your word; and let doors open for in this season, in Jesus’ name.
When you notice a particular door remains closed, what steps will you take to see it opened?
Do you find yourself sometimes wearied, with no strength to continue your journey?
